Hannah Lieberman is a Brooklyn-based writer originally from coastal Massachusetts. She graduated from UMass Amherst in 2022 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance and a minor in English. Shortly after college, she moved to New York to pursue a dance career and presented work at Triskelion Arts, Arts on Site, Green Space, and with the Emerging Artists’ Theatre. She was also supported by the movement-based artist residency program at MOtiVE Brooklyn.
With a focus on creative nonfiction writing and social research, Hannah is curious about the origins and architectures of femininity in everyday movement, dance vocabularies, relationship patterns, and identity. Aesthetically, her writing favors irony, radical honesty, idiosyncrasy, and glimmering clarity.
Hannah is currently a freelance contributor for the Dance Enthusiast.
She has worked for dance organizations Jacob’s Pillow, Gibney Dance, and Movement Research in administrative positions.
